Labradoodle 101: Let me tell you the ways of the Labradoodle

• They are highly intelligent, so they are easy to train.
• They are family dogs, so they are great with children
• They can be hypoallergic, so they are good for allergy sufferers. 
• They are low to no shed, so you can save your time from vaccumming. 
• They are a mixed breed, so they are more healthier than a purebred dog.
• they are a gentle, compassionate breed, so they can be a great therapy dog. 

• Multi-Generational or a F3+ - A Labradoodle of five or more consecutive breedings of a Multi-Generational Labradoodle.
• First Generation or a F1 - The offspring of a purebred Labrador Retriever and a purebred Poodle.
• Second Generation or a F2 - The offspring of both parents who are F1's.
• B (to any generations, example: F1b) - Bred back to a original breed whether it be a Labrador Retriever or a Poodle.

No dog is 100% hypoallergenic. Not even poodles. But the best breeder breeds for a Labradoodle that even people who are allergic to dogs can own. If a breeder keeps throwing together dogs who do not have the proper coat genes that makes it more hypoallergenic, they will produce a dog that is not good for people who are allergic to dogs.

The more generations of the right coat genes, the better. The more stable and consistent it is. This is how you breed out the bad coat genes received from the Labrador.

• First Generational Labradoodles are the least guaranteed since the puppies will have varying coats and they are 50% Poodle, 50% Labrador. The puppies will shed depending on its coat genes. If the puppy has the Lab genes which will look like the hair coat of a Lab, it will definitely shed.
• Second Generational Labradoodles are much better than First Generational, but still are not stable enough to guarantee to have the correct coat type.
• Multi-Generational Labradoodles are the least allergenic and least to shed because they are more consistent if the breeder keeps using dogs with the right coat genes.

The Labradoodle should weight from 15 to 65 pounds When measuring height, measure from the top of the shoulder blades.

• Miniature: 14-16 Inches, 16-25 Pounds
• Medium: 17-20 Inches, 30-40 Pounds
• Standard: 21-24 Inches, 50-65 Pounds

The Labradoodle's coat can have varying textures and be low to no shedding. 

• Hair Coat: It will appear straight and is medium to high shedding.
• Fleece Coat: This coat can vary from straight to wavy or soft curls and is low to no shed.
• Wool Coat: This coat is called Wool because it closely resembles a lamb's wool. It can be in tight or loose curls. It is low to no shed.
